This is my little James being such a good sport while Mommy snaps pictures of him in a pumpkin.  This pumpkin was really big and weighed more than my 2 year old.  I love that you can see the bubbles on his tongue.  He is such a cutie, and I am not biased at all.

I ♥ Faces - Beach Fun

I've been gone for a while. I have a good reason though. We were blessed with our 2nd little boy and this new transition has put other things on the back burner. I'm sure he will be featured in pictures in the near future.

We just got back from our first trip to the beach since our first little guy was a baby. He absolutely LOVED it! This kid loves to get dirty and what better way then to be buried in sand, wash off in the ocean, and then do it all over again? He was in heaven.

Ben has his fake smile, but this is definitely not it. This is his pure joy smile. What brought that smile to his face? The big handful of sand in his hand...

I ♥ Faces - Celebrating Mom

I love being a mom, and this little boy is the reason that I do. This picture isn't very good quality, as it was taken with my computer's built in camera, but we had so much fun doing this. Ben loves to see himself on the computer and this day, I would make a face and he would copy it. This is my favorite from that day. Having fun with your kids is what it's all about! Happy Mother's Day!

I ♥ Faces - "Bundled Up"

It's about time I started posting on I heart faces regularly again. This week's theme is "bundled up." We've definitely been doing a lot of that this winter. Spring keeps teasing us though and hopefully one of these days it will stay and the snow won't come back until next year.

This picture was taken last October. It was the first snow of the season and the first time Ben really got to experience snow. He LOVED it! He was having so much fun tromping around in the snow with his snowball.

I brightened it up and increased the contrast just a little. What do you think?

I ♥ Family!

This is my family. My husband and son love to play around. Our little boy loves using Daddy as a jungle gym, and Daddy is usually happy to oblige. It is so fun to watch them play together. I snapped this shot on Christmas eve while I was reading the Christmas story. It's not going to win, but it is the essence of my family and I love it.

I ♥ Faces - "Sweet Dreams"

I was looking for a picture not of a baby, but when I saw this picture, it brought back so many memories. This was the first picture I ever caught of my little boy's smile. He was less than 2 weeks old. He loved to sleep then, and cuddle, and sometimes I miss those days. Now he is a very active 17 month old and we're expecting #2. Oh how I loved those days...(but now it great too!)

This is my handsome cousin Ashton. We were at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii. I don't remember what he was so happy/excited about, but you can see it in his face. I love the dimple he has in the top of his cheek.

So Excited!

Last week I started a community photoshop class. I am really excited about it because I have wanted to get better at editing pictures I take. I really would like to have some kind of a photography business someday, but we'll see. Anyway, last week was the first class and he gave us a photo that badly needed retouching and restoration and taught us how to do it. I am so excited about the result that I just finished that I had to share! My next class is tonight and I am so excited to learn something else! I'm sure I'll post more of what I learn in weeks to come.

I love this picture of Ben. He was playing outside last week while I was snapping away some pictures. Je had a little bit of a cold, thus the bit of snot running out of his nose, but cute none the less.

I ♥ Faces -- Crazy, Silly, Funny Faces

Again, this week's picture was hard to choose! I have so many crazy, silly and funny faces of Ben, but this one has always been one of my favorites! When I took it, he was almost a week old and I was doing a little photo shoot with him and he was making the funniest faces! My mom, my husband and I were cracking up watching him. Thinking of it, to this day, still makes me laugh.

I ♥ Faces -- Constructive Feedback Friday

Yeah! I have never participated in constructive feedback friday, so I am really excited to get some help! I love taking outdoor pictures, but the lighting isn't always the best. I took this shot with my Cannon EOS Digital Rebel XT. I'm not sure about the EXIF Data for the picture was.

What I don't like:
~The Brightness! It's so splotchy around his face. Is there any way to make it look good afterward, or to avoid this altogether when is this kind of situation outside?

~Also, is there any way to edit out the play gym in the top right corner, without making it look bad?

Here is my edit. I use Photoshop version 8, which I am still learning and hope to get a newer version soon. I just did the Auto Color adjustment, which helped a little, but nothing else I did looked good.


I appreciate any help and criticism you can give me on these subjects or not. I really want to improve my skills. THANKS!
