I ♥ Faces -- At the Beach

I am away from my computer at the moment, so this week I looked on my family blog for a picture from our trip to Hawaii last October. Ben was about 3 1/2 months old and he enjoyed eating the salty sand. I think he is so cute in this picture.

I ♥ Faces -- Constructive Feedback Friday

Yeah! I have never participated in constructive feedback friday, so I am really excited to get some help! I love taking outdoor pictures, but the lighting isn't always the best. I took this shot with my Cannon EOS Digital Rebel XT. I'm not sure about the EXIF Data for the picture was.

What I don't like:
~The Brightness! It's so splotchy around his face. Is there any way to make it look good afterward, or to avoid this altogether when is this kind of situation outside?

~Also, is there any way to edit out the play gym in the top right corner, without making it look bad?

Here is my edit. I use Photoshop version 8, which I am still learning and hope to get a newer version soon. I just did the Auto Color adjustment, which helped a little, but nothing else I did looked good.


I appreciate any help and criticism you can give me on these subjects or not. I really want to improve my skills. THANKS!

I ♥ Faces -- Sepia Toned

I have never actually played with sepia tone until this week's contest. It was a little difficult for me to get it where I wanted it, and I'm still not sure it's perfect, but I think it's pretty good. I love newborn baby pictures! This is my little Ben, about a week after he was born. (He turns 1 next week!)

I ♥ Faces -- “My Story In Photos: The Vacation Edition”

I love to reminisce, so this weeks theme at I heart faces is perfect! We took a trip to Hawaii last October. My mom lives there, so Ben and I went out for a month, and then my husband joined us for the last week. My sisters family did the same thing, so we got to spend a lot of time with her and her boys. Most of the time we were in Laie, on the island of Oahu. It was beautiful! Ben was only 3 months old when we got there, but that didn't stop him from enjoying it. I can't believe how small he was, and how little hair he had (this was the month that most of his hair fell out). I took most of these pictures, but my sister might have taken a few of them too.

We went to the beach just about every day. This was Ben's first time at the beach. He didn't like it much at first, but as you can tell in later pictures, he warmed up to it.

This floaty was WONDERFUL! Plus Ben really liked it.

Waimea Falls is a beautiful hike up to a waterfall that you can swim in!

The whole reason for this vacation was to welcome home my little brother from his 2 year LDS mission. Here is he with his 3 nephews (two of which he hadn't met before then).

On our last day there, I had my sister take some pictures of us as a family by the LDS Temple. I love this one, even Ben's smiling.

I ♥ Faces -- Pets (anything goes)

My hubby's aunt and uncle have lots of animals. This baby goat is just over a week old and her and her sister are so cute! When we pick up this one, she does this face and makes a really small "baa." It's adorable. I can't get enough of them! Ben loves them too. They are some of the few animals that are smaller than him, and he likes to stick his fingers in the fence and let them lick/suck on them.
